Stars in Coma is a Swedish indie pop band formed in Malmö 2005. The band is fronted by André Brorsson, who writes and records most of the music is his Moonport Studios in Malmö.
Stars in Coma debuted with the lo-fi sounding EP “Gizmo Goes To War” in 2005 (Popkonst Recordings). This release was followed by two CDR-albums “My Sunshine Years” and “Monotone Of The Rain” in 2006. In 2008, Stars in Coma released its first proper CD “You’re Still Frozen in Time”, which featured songs from older releases, as well as new recordings. “Your Still Frozen in Time” mixed guitar-based indie pop with strings and electronic sounds.
In 2009, the disco-sounding second album “Sisters” was released. The album was preceded by the digital single “Underneath a Fallen Leaf”, a collaboration with Alexis Hall from The Motifs.
In the summer of 2010, a new compilation album called “And The Cloud Withdrew From The Sky” was released on the Italian label Kingem Records. It consists of unreleased songs mostly recorded in 2008.
Stars in Coma has played several shows in Italy, Germany, England, Denmark and Sweden. The early live shows was mostly made alone by André and some pre-recorded backing tracks. Under the course of a couple of years, the live show has evolved and nowadays André is backed up by a full-fledged live band. In 2010 Stars in Coma played various places in Europe including Liverpool Overthrow Pop Festival, The Copenhagen Popfest, Indietracks and LKAMU Indie Pop Days in Berlin.
In March 2011, Stars in Coma released its third proper album “Midnight Puzzle” on Kingem Records, followed by shows in Italy, UK and Sweden.
